The club's golf course was designed by the famous golf course architect C.H. Alison, and is known for its traditional design and challenging layout.

The Tokyo Golf Club has hosted numerous prestigious golf tournaments over the years, including the Japan Open and the World Cup of Golf. In 1957, the club hosted the Canada Cup (now known as the World Cup of Golf), which was won by the team of Ben Hogan and Sam Snead. The club also hosted the Japan Open in 1930, 1938, 1952, 1966, and 2012, and the Asia-Pacific Open Golf Championship in 1980, 1981, and 1994.

In addition to its championship golf course, the Tokyo Golf Club is also known for its rich history and traditional Japanese clubhouse, which features a beautiful Japanese garden and teahouse.
