Royal Porthcawl

Royal Porthcawl Golf Club is a links golf course located in Porthcawl, Wales. It was founded in 1891 and is considered one of the finest courses in Wales. The course was designed by Charles Gibson and Herbert Fowler, and features undulating fairways and challenging bunkers.

Royal Porthcawl has played host to many prestigious golf events over the years, including the Senior Open Championship in 2014 and the Amateur Championship in 2002. It has also been a venue for several Welsh Open championships. Notable accomplishments include Welsh golfer Ian Woosnam winning the Welsh Professional Championship at Royal Porthcawl in 1979, and South African golfer Gary Player winning the Martini International tournament here in 1963. The course is known for its stunning views of the coast and challenging, championship-level play.
