Garden City Golf Club

Garden City Golf Club is a private golf course located in Garden City, New York, USA. The club was founded in 1899 and the golf course was designed by Devereux Emmet. It is known for its beautiful and challenging layout, with narrow fairways, strategically placed bunkers and small, undulating greens.

The course has hosted several notable events, including the 1902 U.S. Open and the 1908 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship. It has also been a qualifying site for the U.S. Open and the U.S. Amateur Championships. Notable accomplishments include the club being ranked as one of the top 100 golf courses in the U.S. by Golf Digest, and the club's member, John H. Gutfreund, being the inspiration for the character of Sherman McCoy in Tom Wolfe's novel "The Bonfire of the Vanities".
