Butler National Golf Club
Butler National Golf Club is a private golf course located in Oak Brook, Illinois, USA. It was founded in 1972 by two businessmen, Paul Butler and George W. Dunne Sr. The golf course was designed by George Fazio and Tom Fazio, and it has been consistently ranked among the top 100 golf courses in the United States.
Butler National Golf Club has hosted several major competitions, including the Western Open, which is now known as the BMW Championship. It hosted the event for four consecutive years from 1974 to 1977, and then again in 1983, 1990, and 1997. Notably, in 1975, Butler National Golf Club was the site of the first ever professional victory by a young golfer named Tom Watson, who went on to win the tournament four times in total.
Aside from major competitions, Butler National Golf Club has also hosted several charity events and fundraisers over the years, including the Butler National Foundation Invitational, which raises funds for local charities and has been held annually since 1988.
